In the mountainous area of
Norrbotten there are more than 20,000 lakes and thousands of kilometres
of flowing waters of different character. Here you will find high alpine
lakes which are stocked with arctic char and free from ice only a few
weeks each year, as well as lowland waters in the forest land which are
dominated by perch and pike.
Between these extremes you can find
the best possibilities in Sweden of catching big grayling and
brown trout, as well as some of the most interesting
salmon waters in the country.
